Teddy’s Adventures

I’ve known Teddy Richards’ family for about 13 years now, and have had some wonderful moments of magic and laughter with them at the Watermark Grille. They all share a great and easy smile. Teddy has an adventurer’s spirit, at ease with people and traveling.

Cola Band – Almost Acappella

The Cola Band was a top-40 show band based out of Denver, CO. I was proud to be a member for three years. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve every year, we would end each evening’s performance with a live rendition of this song. We gave away cassette recordings of the song as a Christmas gift for fans.

Photography and the Camera’s Lens

Photography remains one of my amusements. I love experimenting with digital point and shoot cameras, trying to tweak settings and subjects for unexpected results. My last three cameras have been Canons, after years with Sony point and shoots. My new Canon is still a point and shoot, but this latest prize is called the ELPH 500.

All As One

Gathering of Mentalists

Some of the most creative minds I’ve met in mentalism gathered again on Monday in Bradenton for an opportunity to exchange ideas, brainstorm, teach and learn. Pictured left to right are myself, Jim Chartier, Dan Tong, Don Rigsby, Vince Carmen and Chandler.

10 Tips for a Successful Event

After performing for several thousand events from Paris to Hawaii and most stops in between, I created these answers to questions that sometimes get forgotten. I hope you find a tip or two that helps you create a successful event for you and your guests:

A landmark in Naples since 1998

The Watermark Grille has been my home, 5 nights a week, for almost 12 years now. The 4 Malo brothers built it and run it to this day. They’ve spent their lives in the restaurant/nightclub business, and if you’ve seen live music in Chicago, chances are you were at one of their places.

Travels to Austin

Made a trip to Austin for the first time this weekend. I met my friend Steve Stuckey there – famous soundman and coincidently, my roommate on the road during the showband years  – for a chance to see a lot of music in a few short days.
